Ok so we all like cheap here at No Nonsense Car Insurance – after all we epitomise cheap car insurance. So knowing about anything that saves us money is welcome in these recessionary times – better in your own pocket as the saying goes.
A recent “visit” from Santa to our household at Christmas resulted in a Nintendo Wii. So now we have to extend the collection of games to ensure that it’s used to its full potential – strangely I hear a voice whispering Call of Duty World at War (COD 4)
So where’s the best place to buy additional games? Any console goes – Nintendo Wii, DS, PS3, or Xbox 360. It appears that some of the best bargains are online, and from the UK.
From initial research it would look like each site has their own specials from time to time, so it’s probably best to shop around a few of them when you have a game in mind. Or even the odd look through the bargain cheap prices can bring a good deal.
Some things to consider:-
What are the delivery charges, if any?Convert the total price back to Euro for comparison (due to play.com forcing Euro price)Use xe.com to give an indication of the Sterling to Euro conversion
Anyhow I’ve used CD Wow and Play.com personally and have never had any major issues. Here’s a short list of some of the online games sites I’ve heard about (please double check on the website at time of purchase for the correct delivery charge) :-
www.play.com
You must click on the Euro flag at the top to order to Ireland, so forget the sterling prices for a start. The exchange rate applied on the website is way over the odds and causes much online debate. I suspect they are different anyhow as the delivery price is “added in” to the price you see – hence “free delivery”.
If you can look past this shortcoming and just concentrate on the Euro price then you can still bag yourself a nice bargain
Keep an eye out for regular “specials”. I recently bagged WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2009 on play.com for about €20 delivered, not a bad price at all.
Won’t deliver certain items e.g. game consoles (as per most sites).
www.cdwow.ie
Not too bad for the odd bargain. Sign up and wait for your vouchers off in your email before buying. Usually this is a €2 off voucher. Or sometimes they just have a “€2 off everything” promotion. Free delivery is included in the price.
www.blahdvd.com
Some good bargains to be had – pay the sterling price using your credit card and benefit from the current generous exchange rate! Delivery charge of £1 as far as I know.
www.hmv.co.uk
A household name – buy online for a cheaper sterling price! Add £2.50 for the delivery.
www.asda-entertainment.co.uk
Some cheap sterling prices which currently includes “free delivery” to Ireland.
www.sendit.com
Based in Northern Ireland. Offer Sterling and Euro prices, but it may be cheaper to purchase using the Sterling price. Includes free delivery.
Can anyone recommend any other cheap games websites?

Hey there people, I just wanted to holla and tell you that I found a great site. For those of you who don’t want to spend ridiculous amounts of money on ppv fees to watch UFC 108 online FREE in full HD. Far Better then spending $55.95 on it eh?
